Nick to Bryn: What's the difference between preserves and jam.
Bryn to Nick: I dunno.
Random lady at the P-town Safeway: Preserves have more chunks.
I love this place!

Mike and Max and some pictures
The movers arrived around 9AM. Mike and Max to be specific. They rolled out the rubberized blue carpet for my arrival (nevermind, you had to be there). Nice guys, pretty funny. I joked about the switchback up the stairs (sorta reminded me of that episode of friends, "PIVOT") and they said it was nothing compared to another job they had done. Apparently they moved for some crazy person that had a loft only accessible by a ladder. They had to move a dresser, desk and bed up to this loft. HA!
Movers left and it was our turn to unpack. That took all day and then some. 70 cardboard boxes and about 25 pounds of packing paper later, everything was unpacked. It took another day or so to finish setting everything up, but it's pretty much done.
For those interested, my adress is:
3911 Vine St.
Pleasanton, CA 94566
This is the entrance to my new place:
This looks like an ordinary entry way closet:
But it's actually HUGE (that's me in the super big closet):
This is me in the kitchen doing a lovely crouching tiger hidden dragon impression.
This is me being artsy. It's the dining room table with a pretty fruitbowl.
There is a cute living room and 2 bedrooms that also exist, but it's taking me forever to upload the pictures. You can see my entire album on Nick's website (while you're there, look around...need some shoes? head to www.shoesrus.net, shameless plug for the guy who drove my car 847 miles) :

I had my first "funny Californian" encounter today. Nick and I took a walk to the Pleasanton farmer's market. It was roughly 58 degrees. We saw a girl running down the street with earmuffs on. I was debating about wearing capris and she was wearing winter gear. I love it!
I'll do my best to keep you updated. I would love to have company so if you are ever in the bay area and need a place to stay, just let me know.

2002 Questions
Nick was a champ and drove the rest of the way to P-Town. The drive through the mountains was beautiful as was the view of Mt. Shasta from the thriving metropolis of Weed, CA. The sign entering Weed read "Weed like to welcome you" and the sign leaving read "Weed like to see you again." Oh those Weedians, what a play on words.
I got a few chips in the windshield today. That sucked. I started to get really mad when one of the chips started to crack along the windshield. When we got to P-town I checked the crack...turned out to be water. Oops.
Over the course of our road trip we read two different books, each containing 1001 questions (2002 total for those keeping track). I skipped the crappy questions so we probably only answered 1500 or so. It turns out we may be compatible after all.
We had dinner at Macaroni Grill. They said it would be a 35-40 minute wait. We sat down in 15. Then our food came about 5 minutes later. Incredible.

If you don't like it, stay out of Oregon
It snowed at least 3 inches this morning. Had to scrape the car and was unable to roll the rolling suitcases - but everything fit and the civic made it out. Hurray! Picked up Nick and we were off.
Only left I-5 once between Seattle and Ashland - to get food, use the restroom and gas up. Masters of efficiency. FYI - it's illegal to pump your own gas in Oregon. I always thought it was just a nice thing they did for you. Nope - it's the law. Nick got in trouble from the gas guy and refused to buy gas in Oregon for the remainder of the trip. Thank goodness the civic gets good gas mileage. I did a quick search to find out more about this law. I couldn't find any real justification, but did find these funny things:
We got to Ashland and had some delicious Thai food.

Blogs
I always thought that blogs were funny. I still do. I like numbers, not words. But I'll give this a try. I make no promises as to the quality and quantity of blogging that will occur here. Don't be surprised if most blogs are bulleted. I do better with lists.
