If you don't like it, stay out of Oregon

It snowed at least 3 inches this morning. Had to scrape the car and was unable to roll the rolling suitcases - but everything fit and the civic made it out. Hurray! Picked up Nick and we were off.

Only left I-5 once between Seattle and Ashland - to get food, use the restroom and gas up. Masters of efficiency. FYI - it's illegal to pump your own gas in Oregon. I always thought it was just a nice thing they did for you. Nope - it's the law. Nick got in trouble from the gas guy and refused to buy gas in Oregon for the remainder of the trip. Thank goodness the civic gets good gas mileage. I did a quick search to find out more about this law. I couldn't find any real justification, but did find these funny things:
  • "If you don't like it, stay out of Oregon."
  • "The customer is manipulated into working for the oil company."
OOOH, the car turned 10,000 miles somewhere between Seattle and Ashland. Now it needs some oil and some rotation.

We got to Ashland and had some delicious Thai food.
